The Predators and Golden Knights end preseason on high notes, the Wild on a low, the Panthers with a seven-spot, and the Lightning without a loss.

Alex Ovechkin does his thing, Mike Smith makes 23 saves, and the Vegas Golden Knights end the preseason at 5-1-0 with a 3-1 win over the Rangers.
Andrew Ladd notched his first two goals of the preseason while Jonathan Quick made 30 saves as the Penguins made 'quick' work of the Sabres with a 6-2 victory.
The Canes got a pair of tallies from Tyler Bertuzzi and Vincent Trocheck - the latter of which in a four-goal Carolina rush in the third period - to take down the visiting Blackhawks in a 6-3 win.
Five Oilers contributed goals - including Mathew Barzal, who also earned two assists, in Edmonton's 5-2 win against the Blues.
Florida may be looking at the 'greatest show on earth' model of high octane action, as the Panthers come off a 6-4 loss with a hearty 7-5 win on the road against the Capitals.
The Predators end up tied for first in the Western Conference with a 5-1-0 preseason record after taking care of business in a 3-1 victory over Minnesota - the Wild's sixth loss in six games.
Blake Wheeler had himself a night, securing a hat trick, while Auston Matthews scored twice and Anton Khudobin made 30 saves, to lift Tampa to a perfect preseason 6-0-0 record in a 6-1 trouncing of the Red Wings.
ON THE FARM

Zowzers. Loos like the kiddos were a bit rusty as BEARD Hockey's AHL action kicked off Thursday night. Nine players reportedly suffered injuries - none major, thankfully. Most will be in line to return for next week's regular season debut, though some may take a little longer to mend.
Hat tip to Brendan Lemieux of the Laval Rocket, as his hat trick in Laval's 7-2 victory propelled him to AHL First Star of the Night.
