Canucks Fighting for Playoff Spot

Despite a sell-off during a mid-season slump, Vancouver has righted the ship with a cast of youth and veterans all scraping for a spot in the dance.

As of December 1st, the Canucks wrote that they seem to be a .500 team and made some significant adjustments to the roster in hopes of kick starting the team.

Well, after a month GM Kirk Slocum made the decision to look to the future and started trading off talents to bring in talent that would bring this team into a winning position in the 2023-24 season.

Since January 1st these are the players pro traded and pro players brought in:

Traded away:

Anders Lee

Zdeno Chara

Tyler Myers

John Klingberg

Tyson Jost

Tanner Pearson

Matt Benning

Mika Zibanejad

Ryan Lindgren

Brought in:

Brock Boeser

Matt Grzelcyk

Andreas Athanasiou

Martin Necas

So, with the removal of all this talent, and being in what maybe the weakest division in the league, somehow the remaining players found some chemistry and are fighting for a playoff spot.

With four games remaining the is a fair chance that these players may actually find themselves in the Show and we all know that anything can happen there!

Crossing our fingers that these players continue their good run though these final games and can experience the playoffs. It would be great to go through the challenges of the playoffs, but first, we need to get the final spot.
